On February 5, 2020, the People's Bank of China officially released the financial industry standard " JR/T 0184—2020 Financial Distributed Ledger Technology Security ". The standard specifies the security system of financial distributed ledger technology, including basic hardware, basic software, cryptographic algorithm, node communication, ledger data, consensus protocol, smart contract, identity management, privacy protection, supervision support, operation and maintenance requirements, governance mechanisms, etc. The standard is applicable to institutions engaged in the construction or service operation of distributed ledger systems in the financial field.
Distributed ledger technology is a distributed infrastructure and computing paradigm formed by many highly integrated core technologies such as cryptographic algorithm, consensus mechanism, point-to-point communication protocol and distributed storage. The publication and implementation of this standard will help financial institutions to deploy and maintain systems in accordance with appropriate security requirements, and avoid security shortcomings, and provide business assurance capability and information security risk constraint capability for large-scale application of distributed ledger technology, and promote the industrial applications benignantly.
This standard was prepared by China Financial Standards Technical Committee, and was proposed and drafted by Institute of Digital Money of the People's Bank of China. The Technology Department of the People's Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, China Development Bank, and other institutions participated in the drafting. After extensively consultation and demonstration, this standard has passed the review of China Financial Standardization Technical Committee.
